A madness for spiritualism has gripped London in 1907. Séances and theatrical shows where spirits make contact with their living families are all the rage, and there are a legion of investigators trying to discover the secrets of the supernatural. Among them, Professor Patrick Moore stands at the forefront, and he is now at a crossroads ‒ he's got 72 hours to prove the existence of the Great Beyond or else his Metapsychic Investigations Department will shut down forever.
Racing against the clock, with the help of a fake medium named Beatrice Shaw, he must complete a prototype of the Box of Revelations, an artefact devised by his missing mentor that enables seeing dimensions hidden in our reality. Building this device will take him from the foggy streets of London to the steep shores of Scotland, and finally to 34 Benwell Street, known as the most haunted manor of England.

Thanks for making a client-free and DRM-free version available here! This kind of game is right up my alley, as I'm a big fan of Algernon Blackwood, M.R. James, and Arthur Machen, along with Conan Doyle, and all those other people. Can't wait to get into this game.

For the people who want to play on macOS: it works really really well on CrossOver / Wine (I played and finished it from 0 to 100 on Steam, using CrossOver for macOS).

Without a doubt, it is one of the best adventures I have ever played, and I can say that I have played a lot of them. While the puzzles are far from trivial, they are designed so that you never get stuck, which ensures a consistently good pace of play. And the pace of the game is essential in a work as focused on excellent characters, history and setting as this one is. If you are a fan of gothic horror, Victorian detective stories, cosmic horror or simply good adventures you should play this gem.
Just completed the game. Amazing story and an awesome ending!

I care, and based upon the discussion board for this game on Steam, numerous other people do, too. I'm not interested in purchasing it here; hence, my initial inquiry. Solid response though, Stofosaurus! I hope you're as helpful and enlightening for the people in your personal life as you were here - and I really hope you have the day you deserve!
I don't understand what I said to upset you. But clearly I triggered you in some way so I apologise for that. Itch is a way better place to support indie devs and you can even give them a tip which is a nice and itch is upfront where the money goes. The only reason people wanna buy this on steam is because of habit. Or that they don't know about Itch. And Alk. Lighten up. Not everything in life is super serious. I wish you all the best.

If you had a look on the Steam discussion page for An English Haunting like you claim you had you should have seen that the top pinned post is from the developer explaining why there's a delay. So, the reason you asked your question here in the first place is also a waste of time. Again, sorry I ruined your day. Same to you, friend.
